Paige Bueckers’ Family

University of Connecticut basketball star Paige Bueckers’ family has been behind her throughout her collegiate career.

The point guard was born in October 2001 to Bob Bueckers and Amy Fuller. Her parents divorced when she was 3 years old and later remarried and had more children. Paige has a brother, Drew, on her father’s side, and a brother, Ryan, and a sister, Lauren, on her mother’s side.

After her parents separated, Paige lived with her father in Minnesota while her mother moved to Montana. Bob and Drew attended all of Paige’s high school games, cheering her on in the bleachers, and Bob’s pride has grown ever since.

“It’s unrealistic, but I think if she stays true to herself, there’s no limit to where she can go,” Bob told CT Insider in January 2022. “Obviously as an athlete health plays a big role in this.” But even if she wasn’t an athlete, if she stays true to herself, which I believe she is and really inhabits her entire personality, she’s going to be an agent of change.

From how she expanded her family to supporting Paige, here’s everything you need to know about Paige Bueckers’ parents and siblings.

Bob is a software developer

Bob has worked as a consultant at many companies during his career, from Target to Pearson. His most recent position listed on LinkedIn was as a senior software developer for IDEAS, which he left in May 2017.

Amy is an equipment specialist at a dental practice

According to LinkedIn, Page’s mother was also a college athlete, running cross country and track and field at the University of St. Thomas. She graduated with a degree in biology in 1999, but returned to the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2001. In 2008, he graduated from school with a master’s degree in periodontics.

Shortly thereafter she moved to Montana and began working in a dental office. In 2018, he began his current position as an appliance specialist at Patterson Dental in Billings, Montana.

Amy and Bob separated when Paige was 3 years old

According to the Brainerd Dispatch, Amy and Bob were married on June 5, 1999, in Brainerd, Minnesota. They welcomed their only child, Paige, on October 20, 2001. However, they separated shortly after in 2004 and Amy soon moved to Montana.

Paige remained in Minnesota with her father, who remarried and fathered a son, Drew, with his wife. Amy also remarried and has two children, Lauren and Ryan.

Bob coached Paige in basketball when she was growing up

Bob was also a point guard when he was in high school, so it was natural that he would coach Paige when she was younger. She told Bleacher Report in March 2020 that they tried to sign her up for different sports, but by first grade, it became clear to her that basketball was her passion.

“When she was little, any kind of ball that was around we would throw it to her,” Bob told BallisLife in a March 2020 interview. “When she started playing [basketball], she was about 5 years old, she would play it when we would go to the park or go to the gym or something like that.”

Both his parents have been supportive of his career

Paige’s parents have been with her throughout her career from high school to college, with Bob and Drew never missing a single game in high school. Amy joined Paige for important moments, such as when she won the Big East Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player award in March 2024.

In addition to her career, Bob is also proud of how Paige has stayed true to herself in the public eye, he told CT Insider.

He said, “People say things like, ‘She handles herself really well’… She doesn’t need to handle herself.” “That’s just him. And that’s what I like. She is confident in who she is and is doing it in a positive way.

He added, “She fights for what she feels is right, which is a lot of the things that are true to my heart as well – people who are struggling, social injustice – but it’s not a made-up page for Twitter or Instagram.” Is. That’s just it. As a parent, as her father, it’s amazing to see.”

Amy echoed similar sentiments in her interview with Ballislife, sharing that Paige has always been confident in herself and is good at setting her own boundaries.

Amy said of her daughter’s personality, “Big personality, super sarcastic, loves to joke on people, knows how to push people in a funny way whenever she can.”

Drew comes to all her games, while Ryan and Lauren are more private

Paige’s siblings are still young and They have stayed out of the public eye, but she has been vocal about her love for him. The entire family, including all three siblings, came out in support of him for Senior Night in February 2024.

Paige has also been vocal in advocating for Black Lives Matter as Drew is biracial. In August 2020, she posted a carousel of photos and videos of her younger brother on Instagram, writing in the caption how she wanted to make a change for him.

“At what point do they stop seeing my little brother as a cute little boy and instead as a threat to society? It scares me,” she wrote. “I’m going to work for change, little brother. “I want you to grow up in a world that accepts you for who you are.”
