Harry Kane scored a hat-trick and scored two more goals as Bayern Munich won 7–0 over VfL Bochum.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting opened the scoring after four minutes when Kingsley got behind the Coman defense and headed a low cross to him at the far post.
Kane hardly touched the ball early on, but his first meaningful contribution saw him drive in when the ball fell to him after Alphonso Davies dribbled into the box.

Kane scored five from the penalty spot before intercepting the ball in midfield and then set up substitute Mathis Tell to get on the scoresheet.

Talking point – plenty of exciting attacking options for Bayern and Kane

It is unlikely that he will be able to emulate the partnership he had with Son Heung-min at Tottenham, but there are certainly exciting potential partnerships out there for him. For most of the season he has played a bit further forward than Spurs, but in this game we saw that things could be even more productive if he returned to a slightly deeper position. Choupo-Moting still looks capable of leading the line and will benefit from the extra attention given to Kane by defenders. Only a good stop from Manuel Reimann prevented the Cameroon striker from scoring the second goal when Kane played him in on goal. No matter how effective these two are, it could be up for grabs in conjunction with Mathis Tell if the young striker progresses this season. His speed presents a great target for Kane’s creativity. With so many forward options, it is more likely that Kane will be leading in the big games, but Thomas Tuchel will have to play with what money he has.

Man of the Match – Harry Kane (Bayern Munich)

He will face very tough opposition in the Bundesliga, but Kane and Bayern already look like a very happy partnership. There has been no bed-in phase for the England captain and he is already settling in perfectly with the skilled wingers at the club. The assist he got in the game will have pleased Tuchel even more than the three goals and you have a feeling it won’t be the only matchball he has picked up this season.
